Engineering
Accessia is hyper secure, next gen workplace access, experience, and analytics technology that’s simple to manage, easy to use, and delivers unparalleled intelligence into how spaces are used.
We were founded in 2021 by a group of problem-solving innovators who believe in building better. Better data and better experiences for better workplaces.
We offer our employees:
Decent salaries
Great benefits (see below)
Central London office
Investment in training, growth, and development
A share in the business so that everyone can benefit from our success
We're very much doing full stack development but using best modern technologies and services to ensure we don’t waste time on doing things which have already been done - we want to focus our time on creating something unique.
We have a web interface in React and Typescript, native mobile apps on both Android and iOS, a database using PostgreSQL accessible through a REST API using Python, logging using OpenSearch (with aspirations to start processing that data using machine learning), microprocessors programmed in C++. All our cloud services run on AWS as a serverless architecture but is also just a docker-compose up away from running on our local machines.
You can count on us for proper development processes, with peer review of all code, tests running on every commit, and a single button to release to the cloud. And we supply as much tea and coffee and as many biscuits as it takes to make all this happen.
We're a mixed team from different backgrounds but we all share the belief that the best way to change things is by starting something ourselves. And we have the drive to do it. If an anonymous job in a multinational is not for you and instead you want a role where you can make a significant impact straight away, we'd love to hear from you.
We’re looking for people who:
Are on course for a good degree, graduating summer 2025
Have excellent A levels (or equivalent)
Are studying a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or maths) subject. Or, if you’re not studying a STEM subject, tell us why you have the aptitude for a programming role
To maximise your chance of being invited to interview, make sure to show us evidence on your CV of how you are:
Interested in solving problems, especially using computers
Able to take a problem away and motivate yourself to solve it without supervision, but also not afraid to ask questions and seek help when you need to
Good at taking complicated problems and breaking them down into solvable chunks
Competitive salaries
Share options
25 days holiday
Long-term income protection insurance
Life assurance
Private medical insurance
Pension scheme
Cycle to work scheme
Investment in training, growth, and development
Your choice of laptop
Sponsorship of skilled worker visas
Our interview process starts with us asking you to do a simple programming test. This is not timed, but typically takes around an hour. We’ll then discuss the test in a first-round screening interview on a video call.
If that goes well, we’ll follow up with two or three further interviews with our senior engineers, and the chance to meet other team members such as our CEO or product manager. This second round could be over video, but, if possible, we'd like to invite you to our office so we can get to know each other in person, probably over lunch! In the interview we'll give you a variety of problem-solving questions to see if you have what it takes, but with a focus on potential and ability to think, not on knowledge. We'll teach you (or help you teach yourself) what you need to know to do the job, so we'll be looking to see that you can learn.
If that all sounds good to you, email us your CV (and an optional cover letter if you feel your CV doesn't tell the whole story) to graduatejobs@accessia.com
